C. A. Olesen was one of the founders of De Danske Spritfabrikker and has given his name to a street in Aalborg. The new golden aquavit, which he launched in 1913, was not named after him. It was named Aalborg Export Akvavit.
Aalborg Export Akvavit is made from distillate from caraway and rounded off with sherry. It has a round, nuanced taste because the aroma of caraway is complemented by nuances of prune and orange.
Aalborg Export Akvavit is suitable for almost all food. But maybe extra good with fried fish, meat with a slightly smoky taste, hamburger back or a classic chicken salad.
