Valsemøllen Coarse Grain Rye Bread is whole grain at its best. The sourdough rye bread is filled with chia seeds and soft, visible grains.
We’ve mixed the flour, a lot of grains and the sourdough for you – that’s home baking made easy! You won’t compromise on taste, quality or baking pleasure. The result is a deliciously moist rye bread with great taste, good bite and a long shelf life. Perfect for everything from breakfast, to lunch, to lunch boxes.
Yeast is included on top of the package The bread mix makes 1 large rye bread (2.6 l).
Here’s how you do it
- Mix the contents of the bag with Valsemøllen dry yeast in a bowl and add 7½dl water.
- Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes in a mixer on the lowest speed or with a hand mixer on medium speed. Be aware that the dough may feel wet.
- Pour the dough into a greased mold (2.6 l), smooth with a spatula and let it rise covered for 60 minutes at room temperature.
- Bake the rye bread on the bottom rack in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan oven 175°C) for about 60 minutes.
- Remove the baked bread and leave it to cool. Note: the rye bread must be cooled before slicing.
